How did you become involved in roller derby?
I went to a CRRG bout in the fall of 2009. While I was there I thought to myself, “I can do that, I want to do that, I’m GOING to do that!” I talked a couple of friends into coming to try-outs with me in February of 2010 for the next season. The all ditched me so I went by myself and have been bleeding CRRG ever since!
I wanted to be involved with the charity work the league does in the community, the sisterhood, the empowerment of women that derby embraces and represent the city I grew up in and love.
Inspiration for Derby Name:
What? That is my name!
What do you do when you’re not skating?
I work in a family practice office where one of my duties it to assist with vasectomies. I donate blood regularly, sometimes it’s even my own. I karaoke and do crafts. Can MacGyver just about anything!
Who is your derby hero?
Just one? NOT possible. All of my derby sisters are heroes to me on and off the track in one way or another.
Tell us something you probably shouldn’t:
I’ve been known to break out in song and dance, even if nobody is looking.
Advice about derby or life in general:
It takes all kinds for the world to go ’round. Do what you do and do it with all you’ve got!
